Ball State University
Ball State’s distinction is its immersive learning courses, which provide students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that bridge content, knowledge and societal need. ecoREHAB works with students within the College of Architecture and Planning to complete each rehabilitation and carry out many educational and outreach efforts. In spring 2017, the organization partnered with communications and marketing students to better share its story and position the organization for continued success.
Ball Brothers Foundation
This family philanthropy, with a grant-making emphasis on East Central Indiana, supports neighborhood stabilization and renewal. The Ball Brothers Foundation has generously supported ecoREHAB from the start, providing funding for capacity-building efforts, research, and multiple rehabilitation projects, including 522 S. Gharkey Street and 1215 W. 10th Street.
The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Inc.
The Community Foundation encourages philanthropy that enhances the quality of life for residents of Muncie and Delaware County. Since our inception, ecoREHAB has relied on the foundation’s generous support for tools and seed money to kick-off key projects, including the rehabilitation of 1211 W. 10th Street.
Muncie Community Development
Muncie Community Development’s primary function is to administer entitlement grants to the city from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These grants, which focus on development and revitalization of viable urban areas, have funded multiple full-scale rehab projects and key projects, including 535 S. Gharkey Street, 511 W. Main Street, and 601 E. Washington Street.
PathStone is a nonprofit community development and human service organization that provides services to low-income families and economically depressed communities throughout several states. PathStone has partnered with ecoREHAB on initiatives since 2013, when ecoREHAB provided design services in exchange for ownership counseling for ecoREHAB home buyers.
Muncie Land Bank
The mission of the Muncie Land Bank, Inc., is to acquire abandoned and blighted property, preserve it, and provide it to the public for strategic redevelopment.
Solar Uniting Neighborhoods, Prosperity Indiana (formerly IACED)
SUN is a financial incentive program to design and administer solar photovoltaic installations in Indiana. In 2015, SUN provided ecoREHAB funding to help defray the cost of installing a 2.52 kilowatt system at ecoREHAB’s then office and demonstration house, 522 S. Gharkey Street.
The effort, administered by the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED) and Sustainable Catalyst Partners, (SCP), was funded by a collection of five Indiana-affiliated nonprofits, including Citizens Action Coalition, Hoosier Environmental Council, Indiana Wildlife Federation, The Environmental Law and Policy Center and the Sierra Club.
